Angela MacDonald, RMT

Angela is the owner/operator of Urban Retreat Massage Therapy located on Spring Garden Road. She is a graduate of ICT Northumberland College in Halifax and has been practicing since 2003.

Since graduating, Angela has built a successful practice and continues to focus on educating the public on the benefits of massage therapy as well as promoting general wellness. She has received post graduate certificates in Reiki, Craniosacral and Neuromuscular Therapy.

As a practitioner and former clinical instructor, Angela is experienced in assessing and treating postural dysfunctions, repetitive stress syndromes, chronic pain syndromes and soft tissue injuries.

She uses a variety of techniques to help treat the tissue dysfunction including Deep Tissue Therapy, Myofascial Release Therapy, Trigger Point Therapy, Reiki, and Swedish/Relaxation Massage.

Erin Sutherland Erin Sutherland, RMT

Erin Sutherland, RMT is a graduate from ICT Northumberland College class of 2013.She specializes in Sports Massage, and Deep Tissue Therapy and hopes to further expand her therapeutic skills. She also has experience with Myofascial Release, Pregnancy Massage, and Suikodo. From her history in track and field, softball, and long distance running Erin likes to help people stay active and healthy.

Jason Wong Jason Wong, PT

Jason Wong, PT graduated in 1997 with his physiotherapy degree from Dalhousie University located in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He trained in orthopedic physiotherapy and sports medicine and his clinical practice has included continuing care centers, hospitals and private practice. He has trained and worked in the field of physiotherapy across Canada and in the United States.

Jason has been associated with Dalhousie University’s School of Physiotherapy clinical education program since 2000 and he has treated a wide variety of clientele including university level (NCAA, AUAA), national level and international level athletes. He has also been a medical team member for various recreational and professional level sporting events and his personal sport interests include tennis and basketball.

Sonya Dunham Sonya Dunham, RMT

Sonya's journey into the world of natural healing began when she was recovering from an injury. During a Massage Therapy session, she realized the power and potential of this healing art, and her passion was born. Soon after, she begun her studies. She graduated from ICT Northumberland College in 2010 and has been performing massage therapy treatments since.

She has worked with clients from all walks of life, helping them to maintain and improve their mobility and comfort level and assisting them at reaching their health goals. She uses a wide variety of techniques including, but not limited to, Deep Tissue Therapy, joint mobilizations, Myofascial Release Therapy, Trigger Point Therapy, and Swedish/Relaxation Massage. Using the knowledge she has gained through training and practise she looks at the body as a whole to better create a treatment that will meet her clients specific needs. Sonya recognizes the importance of engaging her clients in their healing through effective patient education and appropriate home care. She also has training and experience using Reiki, reflexology and Suikodo techniques which she incorporates into her treatments to help clients achieve a higher level of wellness. 

 

 

Anna O' Neil

Anna O'Neill, RMT

Anna's philosopy is that "hands can heal", she has a passion for helping others to achieve health and wellness. Graduating from ICT Northumberland College in 2017 she is excited to be joining a team of professionals that offer the best in treatments and educate clients on rehabilitiation. Anna utilizes deep tissue and myofacial release tecqniques in combination with swedish massage to achieve release of chronic muscle pain and stiffness. Her massage therapy treatments are effective at releasing tension but are also relaxing.

Louise Angel, RMT

Louise has recently returned home to Nova Scotia from Ontario where she graduated from the Massage Therapy program at Fleming College in 2017 . She has been trained in Swedish Massage and has a focus in utilizing Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release and Trigger Point Therapies in her treatments. Louise believes in working with her clientsto help achieve their wellness goals through massage, treatment planning and take home exercises to assist in healing and progress outside of the massage room. Louise understands that every client is different and strives to tailor her treatments to suit individual needs while still acknowleging the body as a whole. She has an interest to continue to educate herself in methods of healing and loves the knowledge she gains from each and every treatment.
